Gratitude, a Feeling—OR a Hormone-Balancing Strategy

Thanksgiving is here, and while gratitude is everywhere, it’s far more than a seasonal idea. Thankfulness is a daily tool that supports your mind, your hormones, and your spiritual health.

Let’ talk Gratitude..

The last five years have brought our family incredibly hard seasons. What carried me wasn’t perfect circumstances—it was the simple, daily practice of writing down five things I was thankful for. That practice pulled my body out of fight-or-flight and helped me think clearly, feel calmer, and anchor myself in hope.

Why gratitude works:

  • It is obedience. Scripture tells us to give thanks in all circumstances.

  • It rewires your brain and builds new, hope-filled pathways.

  • It lowers cortisol, supports hormone balance, and signals safety to the body.

My top five this year:

  • God’s protection, provision, and presence

  • My husband of 25 years

  • My children and grandchildren

  • Our health

  • Every woman I’ve had the honor to serve

What can you name today?
